Domain ontologies

We have generated and populated two ontologies, the first for people and the second for locations.

The ontology of people has been constructed on the basis of the automatic annotation of poeople entities in the "Adige corpus" (Version A-500.000), which contains the news stories published by the newspaper "L'Adige" from 1999 to 2006. The T-Box has been manually designed, it contains a simple definition of the concept "person". The A-Box has been automatically generated on the basis of the corpus annotation.

The ontology for location has been generated manually starting form a number of databases obtained form the Provincia Autonoma di Trento. The T-box has been generated on the basis of the database schema and the A-Box has been generated by automatically importing the tuples of such databases in the ontology.
